A mobile differentiated services QoS model

چکیده
UMTS networks will be based on the Internet Protocol (IP) to provide an efficient support for applications with bursty traffic characteristics, e.g., WWW browsers. Such IP-based networks must include Quality of Service (QoS) mechanisms to enable the usage of real-time applications, such as mobile telephony. Different network services are necessary to satisfy the different needs of applications in wireless mobile networks. To overcome this problem, this article proposes the Mobile Differentiated Services QoS Model (MoDiQ), a framework to provide QoS in wireless mobile networks. MoDiQ is based on the Differentiated Services approach, developed by the Internet Engineering Task Force for wireline networks. An important part of MoDiQ is the MoDiQ service model which comprises separate services for mobile terminals and non-mobile terminals. This can enhance the efficiency of resource utilization in scenarios where not all mobile terminals are actually moving.

A Novel Fuzzy Logic Base Scheduling Mechanism for Service Differentiation in IP Networks
Quality of Service (QoS) refers to a set of rules or techniques that help the network administrators use the available network resources optimally to manage the effects of congestion and to treat the applications according to their needs. The differentiated services architecture (DiffServ) allows providing quality of service to users. The major DiffServ premise is that individual flows with sim...
متن کاملProviding Differentiated Services to Mobile IP Users
To support Quality-of-Service (QoS) provisioning in highly dynamic mobile environments, we propose a signaling protocol allowing mobile users to contact a Differentiated Services bandwidth broker for QoS negotiation. The protocol can also be used for QoS negotiations between bandwidth brokers.

This paper proposes a QoS micro-mobility solution capable of providing QoS support for global mobility. The solution comprises enhancements with regards to the mobility management of Mobile IPv6 (MIPv6) and in the resource management of the Differentiated Services (DiffServ) QoS model. The mobility management of MIPv6 was extended with fast and local handovers in order to improve its efficiency...
متن کاملA Fuzzy Based Three Color Meter/Marker for Diffserv Networks (RESEARCH NOTE)
Differentiated Services (Diffserv) which was proposed by Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF), is a scalable and robust model for providing the end-to-end QoS. In the Diffserv networks, metering mechanisms are used to measure traffic stream. The single rate Three Color Meter (srTCM) [1],which was proposed by IETF, meters an IP packet stream and marks its packets either green, yellow, or red....
متن کاملAn End-to-end Qos Provisioning Architecture in Mobile Network
Quality of Service (QoS) provisioning is one of critical issues in the wireless and mobile network. However, the existing works for QoS guarantee focused on only the wireless network characteristics. In this paper, we proposed an end-to-end QoS provisioning architecture in the diverse mobility situations. This architecture consists the Differentiated Service (DiffServ) model and Integrated Serv...
